Comparative Analysis of performance indicators of international shipping companies

Foreign trade is booming as, as the days go by, new trends are implemented on how to carry a certain amount of product from one country to another, it is known that shipping is a mode of transport that represents 80% use for par to the transfer of goods abroad being one of the most important. The research carried out determined the costs of maritime freight and transit times offered by each of the shipping companies to the company DESCAMEX S.A. DE C.V.; the optimal route for the transfer of the goods was also drawn, highlighting the importance at the latter point because the realization of different scales are a direct factor influencing the determination of costs and time. The study was conducted during the quarterly period September-December 2019 under a quantitative approach in which criteria were established to carry out a comparative analysis between the services offered by each of the shipping companies with the aim of taking the most convenient decision for the company and the customer who in addition to looking for a better alternative in cost and time require security in the transport of their goods. Among the shipping companies that analyzed are Hapag-Lloyd, Hamburg Sud, CMA CGM and MSC, finding that the shipping companies Hapag-Lloyd and Hamburg Sud provide better assistance in how much time and cost is due to the distances between the ports and the routes which are taken for the delivery of the product.
