This research work focuses on resuming the analysis made by the Altamira Research Center for Applied Science and Advanced Technology Unit on the characterization of the on-shore wind within the metropolitan area of the southem area of Tamaulipas and the study of one of the renewable about the various renewable energies that exist in the world, wind energy. However, there is a wide explanation about the various renewable energies that exist. In this study, measurements were taken at different points in the following cities in the state of Tamaulipas, which are: Tampico, Madero and Altamira. A previous investigation was carried out to determine the appropriate points for taking measurements, the points were diversified in several areas in order to obtain the corresponding conclusions to this investigation and thus determine if the south of the state of Tamaulipas is viable for the installation of parks wind. This research can set the tone for further studies related to this topic; since the characterization of the on-shore wind can be extended throughout the entire coastal area of the state of Tamaulipas. Likewise, it could lead to more research in the state, but focused on other types of renewable energy such as wave and tidal energy, among others, and thus determine if the surrounding areas of our area are indicated for this type of energy.
