The present investigation is focused on the measurement of Total Harmonic Distortion or THD in a Single Phase System, the main objective is the monitoring in real time the electric current signal to analyze the harmonic distortion of the same and in this way a calculation of THD in the phase. Only the electric current is monitored and the harmonic distortion in the voltage signal in most cases is considered negligible because it is less than 10% of the THD. It is vitally important to know the TDH of the system because it goes together with the power factor, when it has a system with a low power factor that causes a poor use of electrical energy, decreasing the performance of the electrical system and Overloading the neutral conductors and in some occasions can cause internal damage to the equipment, which sometimes causes the protection systems to be activated (thermal magnetic switch, fuses, etc.).
