Proposal to locate an ixtle collection center in Tantoyuca’s Municipality, Veracruz

In the Huasteca Veracruzana agave fibers (Ixtle) are used for the elaboration of artisanal products. The geographic distribution of the crop is concentrated in three congregations of Tantoyuca´s Municipality, Veracruz. The location of an Ixtle collection center is proposed from the P-median model and a set of candidate locations, with the aim of having better access to such raw material and that it can be offered at a better price, as well as to benefit the peasant harvesters of Ixtle, getting higher economic income, instead of to sell the fiber or finished products in the center of Tantoyuca Ver., being affected by buyers who regularly pay less for their products and then sell them at a higher price; that is why the peasant will be able to make the sale in a set place.
