At present the rapid technological advance demands a dynamism in all the sectors, to be able to advance at the same speed that the industry; to ignore or not to be part of the current trends in manufacturing and production is equivalent to going back, being out and becoming obsolete for companies. The present work is a research about Industry 4.0, in order to characterize, identify and describe the evolution of industrial revolutions, the environments in which the industry is currently developing and the basic theories of Industry 4.0 in a horizon of time between 2014-2017. The theme of Industry 4.0 is analyzed and reference is made to categories such as: Industry 4.0, the Internet of Things, cyber-physical systems, among others that appear in the search and search process.
