Abstract

In this research, a diagnostic evaluation of the current state of network cabling is carried out at the José Mario Molina Pasquel y Henríquez Technological Institute (ITJMMPyH) Mascota Academic Unit, based on the application of a link speed test on a random sample of network users. the institutional network (entry test); as well as in the application of satisfaction surveys (entry surveys) to know the voice of the customer to the same random sample; in order to carry out a restructuring of the same that contributes to a better performance and performance of the network; determining the input requirements necessary to carry out the project, as well as the determination of costs. To counteract the problems detected in the diagnosis, the structured cabling that makes up the network is replaced, installing a new category 6 cable; according to international standard ANSI/TIA/EIA 568-B; and in turn, using the 606-C standard to control the labeling of the aforementioned cabling and the devices associated with it, as a final activity of the project, an evaluation of the improvement in the performance of structured cabling is carried out through the application of link speed tests on the same random sample of users of the institutional network (exit test) and satisfaction surveys (exit surveys) to find out the voice of the customer; and in this way check the degree of optimization in the performance of the network.
