Abstract

This investigation raises the analysis carried out in an interior manufacturing company in the automotive industry, where there was a deficiency in the supply of materials to certain production lines due to human and logistics factors. The main objectives of the project included: establishing the path of the materialistic operator based on lean manufacturing tools, reducing travel time, streamlining the supply process at an indirectly related workstation and reducing inventory costs according to the production increase per shift. The methodology used for these purposes was Observe Deeply, Standardize, Kaizen of the flow and process, Kaizen of equipment and Kaizen of layout (OSKKK), being one of the most suitable for projects of this nature. The results obtained led to the best use of material, human and time resources, resulting in important economic and productive benefits for the host company. This research adds to the successful history of industrial processes optimized using lean manufacturing tools.
