To become even more competitive every Company needs continuous improvement. A company of the automotive industry from Matamoros Tamaulipas had problems of inventory excess, scrap and under-use of the human resources and equipment. This is why this project had as an objective “to know the impact of implementing Lean Manufacturing tools (Kaizen y JIT) in the cutting area of an automotive company”, to improve the control of inventory, reduction of scrap and utilize more efficiently equipment and personnel. The work was a field, cross-sectional and non-experimental study. The methodology used was OSKKK which was implemented on the inventory area and the cutting equipment, there was standardizing of the labeling of kanban boxes and cards, mapping and direction identification of the inventory racks. The data analyses were made with company formats and the excel program. The results found were a reduction in inventory as a better use of the space available. Also after the analyses of equipment process times and the balancing of the work load of the operators we achieved a more efficient use of operators and equipment. This works hypothesis was proven since the implementation of lean manufacturing tools generated an impact of: a reduction of 50% or more on inventory, a 5% reduction of scrap and a 10% rise in efficiency of personnel and equipment.
