Abstract

The present research defines the procedure and time for revision of PPAPs of purchased components, also to reduce the risks of non-conformances for not counting with a stablished standard for the management of the PPAP (Production Parts Approval Process) packages. Due to the aforementioned, waste of internal resources is generated, such as laboratory studies, components dimensional layouts by metrology or lack of monitoring of plastic injection molds, thus, for every customer requirement that is not available there is a cost paid by the company. The objective is to resolve this problem by standardizing the validation of purchased components from regular production that are involved in new products. The instrument used in this study was transversal having into account that it was executed during the period of 1 year (2020). Simultaneously this study is documented given that a conceptual investigation was done and a practical study was done afterwards in a program awarded and implemented in the automotive company. With the implementation of this project, it was possible to evaluate the implementation of components selected from regular production and reduce the cost of studies requested from the customer 80% and it was observed a reduction of 57.8%.the time of approval for revalidation.
